That's a solid return for Butler. Maybe wolves get a pick to Top 7 protected. About fair what the spurs got for Leonard.

ll, how is that a good return for Butler? That’s a bad contract and a prospect that didn’t show much last year. The Spurs were in a much tougher position with a guy who absolutely wanted out at all cost and had been injured for a year and a half. They ended up with an allstar, a young guy who has proven he can contribute to a good team and a first. A 1st and getting rid of Green>> nothing, Poetle= Ntilikina, and Derozan>>>>>> Hardaway. That package is so much better than the suggested one for Butler. Butler is a top 15 player in the NBA. Even as a rental, he has more value than that. Atleast something similiar to the George deal.

Tim not a bad contract he gets 18 nil and averaged 18 a game. If he can average 15 a game playing 3rd option that's great. Wolves not ready to get younger they need talent and don't have a market to sign talent. Can't risk losing Butler or drafting a bus least Tim has game but can work on it more in Minny with thibbs along with a prospect and a top 7 pick protected for an expiring contract to a team. There are better trades but this not bad from a laker fan who wants Butler the Knicks pick will be about ten it valuable and raptors pick will be 26. so the picks helps trade more even with spues trade but Leonard is a top 4 player while Butler there is James durant ad Leonard harden Curry Westbrook Lillard Irving Klay Paul embiid greek freak ahead of Butler.

Ok, first, there’s no pick involved in the above trade.

2nd, look at Hardaway’s efficiency. It’s terrible and he doesn’t do anything else. In the most literal sense, you are better off having nothing than Hardaway on that deal. You’re better off taking a risk on the draft at a quarter of the price. You only need to draft an average player to get 4 Hardaways

Sure; healthy and happy Kawhi is better than Butler, but is that what you are going to get? No one knows. Butler has similiar value given the circumstances.

Your either have no concept salary and roster construction or the most ridiculously high opinion of Hardaway.

42 percent field goal
Average 17.5
I think that's better then any player the wolves can sign as a free agent. I said his trade would be better if you add the pick Top 7 protected to make goodTrade. He still young a better coach will bring the best of you.

But me as a gm in Minny situation I would trade Butler for an overpaid star with years on contract like Griffin, love. or boston for brown would be my first option, then Ingram would be my second, Covington and fultz plus pick 3rd option, those are the teams can chance Butler who could keep him. Plus Minny gets a young player from each team that can build with Wiggins and towns.

Cavs get Ingram and kcp

Wolves get love, osman and Lakers 2019 and future first pick from cavs

Lakers get Butler.
This trade is if Minny wants a big man or can do similar trade and get Blake with Detroit. Or just straight up trade with Lakers or 76ers c
or boston are all better. Or can do a similar three way trade like i just posted with boston Cavs and Minny. Philly Detroit and Minny but all depending if Minny want another wing or big man. All those are better then the hardaway trade but If the hardaway trade is the best they can get they better take it.

Butler is not a top 15 player . Boarderline top 25-30.

I'd pick butler over derozan.

I would rather have derozan he has years left on contract to actually get him comfortable instead the team thinking he leaving after this year but I rather have Butler.

I do think the knicks would have to send a pick for this deal, but it really isn't AWFUL. Just depends on what the wolves want to do. They can't sign players (no one wants to play there) so the question is whether Tibs believes he can do something with that good, not great, talent. It may be a reasonable option for the wolves though.

It's not fair value but pick makes it closer but your not getting fair value for expiring Butler, maybe with two years left but not potential rental.
