A young core? Deng, Delly, and ET?

Deng, Delly, and ET wouldn’t actually be bad vets to have around the young guys, but I don’t think Cleveland is getting enough back, especially from Portland.

Cleveland is over the cap, these trades bring them under the cap.

Maybe Portland could give some extra second round picks.

Cleveland will be under the cap once the season starts anyway after the fire sale. Unless Cav's give James % of ownership, then they'll be over the cap as long as he owns a share.

If the NBA tested for roids… Hmmmmm!

FLTribeFan: Yeah, absolutely. Taking on bad contracts to pick up extra assets is one of the most common strategies for rebuilding teams. You can't win the next 2-3 years, so why not take on horrible contracts for picks?

Especially taking horrible contracts that can't win you games. Turner isn't taking over a game and winning it single handed. Neither is Deng or Delly. Love can. He would actually be really bad for rebuilding because he can occasionally go for 35 and 15 and take over and win a game. He does that enough times, and you go from a top 5 pick to a mid lottery pick. Not great for the rebuild.

I doubt Milwaukee would want to trade a guard, for another guard, Since they currently have 11 guards now.

If that's Evan Turner, the Cavs aren't getting enough. I'm in if it's Myles Turner though.
