Kanter is a better version of Okafor. Very good low post scorer, not very athletic, no defense, and not a great rebounder. He's not a starter in the Thunder and is redundant coming off the bench with Kanter.

Kanter is back up center. Sabonis and Okafor will be the power forwards. Joffrey Leveargne is going to be a free agent. it's not a late 1st rd pick either. The Thunder are 7th in the west so the pick would likely be between #18-#22.

Completely agree with Newlakerdynasty. Kanter and Okafor are the same. They could NEVER play at the same time. Seems like a waste of a first when you already have kanter, Adams, and sabonas.

You guys are nuts. Olakor is seven years younger then kanter. Too much upside too give away for a bs late pick. Has to be top ten or I'd just keep him as a development guy.

Okafor might be young, but we've seen him grow up before. We've seen Monroe, and kanter, and Al Jefferson. Okafor's ceiling isn't high.

If you combine his defense 68th of 70 centers) and rebounding (10 boards per 100 possessions, which is HORRIBLE), he might be the worst center in the NBA in those two fields combined. The worst. His offense doesn't make up for that.

Okafor is the type of player that is only valuable in a certain role on a select teams in the NBA. Thunder are not one of those teams, they don't even really have room for him. As far as Okafor's value I think its worth a first in the 10-20 range. Where he was drafted is irrelevant his style doesn't mesh with what most teams are doing and what they want. His value is also hurt that its no secret 76ers have overload at center and are trying to trade him.

Hey TreGib, don't know where you got "Olakor is seven years younger then Kanter" from but Kanter is actually only 2 years and 8 months older than Okafor. So get you head out of your a$$ if you think you can get a top 10 pick in this draft for a useless center with not much upside.

In my opinion his value is anywhere between pick 7-15. I think the Pelicans scouted all Centers and didn't find a better one like Okafor in this years draft. The first one is always going between pick 7 and 15 in the mock drafts. So I see a team giving up a pick in this range for him.

I disagree. He's is both not in a system for him to be effective ( Sixers play run and gun) and not on a team that can help him be effective ( zero talent) . Worst defensive guards in the league and worst supporting cast in the league in general. Embiid is one of those special guys like towns and Davis or else Okafor would start every game. I would also say Noel would benefit from a better supporting cast as well. None of those players you mentioned had to play with this kind of void around them at nearly every position. It's hard to be effective when you doubled on every rebound and on defense have to guard at least two guys on every play. I'd bet on okafor leaving philly and being an all star center before his career is done.

okafor and adams will clog up the lane too much for russ. okc needs more of a stretch 4 type like a kevin love to keep the lane open. can't pick and roll with russ and adams if okafor is hanging around the post.
