The contract situations for mirotic and Porter are all wrong 4 Portland. Without a trade exception the blazers are taking on 10 mil more on their cap sheet in this deal, which I'm sure they plan on diving under the luxury around the deadline. Thumbs up, DAC813 too! 100%.

It’s not about the players though. None of those guys help Cleveland in the long term and they can get out of Smith and Hood next year or use them as expiring contracts in a trade. The Cavs are all about getting young assets and that deal doesn’t maximize their ability to do so.

Okay Supercollider. Not for you. If Melo is released. What team would be interested? He shouldn't be claimed by a contender, i just think he will ruin it. In my opinion, he should go to a team with nothing to lose this season. Try to learn a new style of play. Teams that could fit?

If you are a young team, you aren’t going to take touches away from your young guys. I don’t think they do it, but maybe Memphis or New Orleans. They’re good defensively, but don’t have much depth at sf.

Wesley Johnson seems to have cracked the rotation for the Pels otherwise I like the Pels taking that chance. Melo doesn't seem to be able to break certain habits on defense that make him easily replaceable if he can't knock down shots.

Honestly, I think this might be the end of the road. Someone could pick him up, but I don't see any viable options. Maybe Phili makes a dumb decision and thinks he could help? Maybe Lebron convinces the Lakers to sign him? Maybe NO overreacts to a poor few games with some injuries and takes him on.
I think that the OKC and Houston situations have killed any value he had, even as a minimum contract player. I think there's a better chance he doesn't get another contract this year than someone takes him on.

I hate to say it and I don’t want it to happen but Melo and Cleveland makes more sense now than anything. Cleveland is still searching for a main scorer and if Melo is willing to play reduced minutes then possibly he could even “start†and play 20 minutes a game. Yes Cleveland is probably in full tank mode but I mean we still want to have some type ability to remain competive in the process for the fans sake. He won’t win Cleveland games but will generate some buzz and Cleveland playing like they are right now and with the injuries, needs something and could be desperate enough to try something. Not saying it makes perfect sense but compared to a playoff team not wanting to mess up chemistry, Cleveland needs something whatever that is.
