Looking at payrolls for 2017/2018 Boston has 14 teams that have higher payrolls damm good management just need a centre now Who else do you think has done a good job with success and managing payroll?

The clear answer is the Spurs. They've been consistently a threat to win a championship for 20 years, they've always kept their roster flexible enough to go out and get players they need, when they do lose free agents they always have a guy they've developed to take his spot, they almost always resign players below market value, and they have been able to stay away from paying luxury tax consistently .

The Warriors also deserve a mention. The fact that they could go out and sign Durant was impressive. Obviously though, there was a lot of luck involved. Curry's injuries and Green's late development added with the timing of their contracts (a few years before the cap started rising at a ridiculous rate) helped them out a ton. It'll be interesting to see how they'll handle the roster once Durant, Green, Curry, and Klay are all making near max.

Possibly Okafor, Chandler could be had but it would be hard for the Celtics to match his contract, Drummond, Cousins and Mark Gasol all look like they could come available. I think, unless they can get a good deal on Drummond or Cousins, they should just find a stop gap after buyouts.

I would go with Festus Ezeli, just not sure what his status with injury that made him miss entire last season.
Maybe even David Lee, last year he averaged almost 9 rebounds per 36 mins.

Now that would be a funny fight Magic and Lavar if Lonzo was traded never going to happen but.
