If Dalcon was a Raptors fan, this would be a deal for him.
If Giannis and Embiid decided to get together and form an AllAfrica pro team, they would choose to do it in Toronto, because the Raptors already have Siakam, Anunoby, Achiuwa and Koloko. So here's how the deals go.

Toronto sends - Barnes and Trent (opted in) to Milwaukee for Giannis Antetokuompo
Toronto sends - vanVleet, Young and Porter to Philly for Joel Embiid
Toronto sends - Flynn to Miami for Gabe Vincent
Toronto sends - Harper to Warriors for Jonathan Kuminga
Toronto sends - Boucher to Orlando for Bol Bol
Toronto signs Emmanuel Mudiay from the G League
Toronto sends - Poetl (s&t) to Memphis for Desmond Bane
Toronto sends - Downtin to Cleveland for Isaac Okoro
Toronto sends - Weiskamp to Atlanta for Onyeka Okongwu
Toronto signs - 2 of Giannis's brothers to 2 way deals

Of course, we'll need an African coach, so we'll replace Nurse with Ime Udoka.

Obviously all of Toronto's 1st and 2nd round picks will go, and all pick swaps as well.

Starters - Vincent, Anunoby, Giannis, Siakam, Embiid
Bench - Bane, Okungwu, Kuminga, Achiuwa, Mudiay, Bol, Okoro, Koloko and the brothers Antetokuompo

And of course it's unbelievable because read the first line.

No thank you.

2.) 25 Mar 2023 21:41:39
Giannis is born in Greece, so it's more logical he wants to team up in Dallas with Doncic and Jokic :-p.

3.) 25 Mar 2023 22:05:39
That's not enough for Fred VanVleet.

4.) 27 Mar 2023 16:23:49
Anunoby is citizen of Great Britain.

@NBA16 - is there a trade that can be built featuring Trent for Brooks... Memphis would have to add some salary likely, and I don't think we'd give up anybody more valuable than Trent, but Brooks might be a nice fit at the 2 for the Raptors

Idk if Grizz would be interested much in Trent. We already have our SG and shooter in Bane. Brooks is our best perimeter defender and will be the one that will guard the opposing best player in the playoffs.

Don’t think they’d wanna pay Trent what he’s asking as well.

TOR - DET

Det sends Joseph and 2026 2nd (best of New Orleans or Portland)

Tor sends Malachi Flynn

Toronto uses Dragic TPE to bring Joseph's salary in, and sending out Flynn keeps them under the tax line. Nurse has coached Cory with the Canadian team, and if he trusts him enough to approve this deal he'll get more opportunity than Flynn seems to be able to earn.

Detroit gets 2 years control of a young player that can challenge Killian Hayes for the backup point minutes. They also save 3M, which doesn't matter for their cap, but might make a big difference on the bottom line.

Seeing lots of rumours suggesting Harden may sign with Houston in the summer. Your thoughts? Is this narrative being quietly pushed by Philly's office? Trying to avoid losing a draft pick for completing the deal they negotiated secretly last year?

isn't this Harden's management, who spread the rumors, trying to get a max deal from philly.

wonder what the odds are that the Nets sign Josh Primo to a minimum deal and hire Ime Udoka... then replace all the female staff with men.

Well, Udoka started with coaching in San Antonio.

I don't think Toronto would do this deal, even if it is as poorly balanced as you suggest. The problem is Dame Lillard has never shown any desire to leave Portland, nor to play in Toronto. A disgruntled star is rarely a productive star. Kawhi had his next contract to play for, and the knowledge he could go where he wanted after the season, so he would be an exception to that. A motivated and happy Lillard is probably worth all that and more, but that's not what the Raptors would be getting.

@Fredman - Siakam is a 2 time AllNBA player. I think that's a little better than a borderline AllStar.

young is the very definition of a player the Raptors would never sign or trade for. Raps would need to find a new coach to start with, because Nurse's defensive schemes require good defenders at all 5 spots. It would also require Masai and Bobby to do a 180 on their philosophy of building a team that starts with exceptional defense. I wouldn't say there is not some reasonable value in your proposal, but it is one that Toronto would not even consider.

Dude. I don't think Masai cares about your opinion. He has stated publicly that he is going to have patience with this group. You keep proposing trades that don't fit with what he has publicly said they intend to do. Over the past 10 years the Raptors are a top 5 team in the league in victories. Where are your Magic? Oh, they're finally starting to find their way after hiring a Raptors Assistant GM who learned from Masai. Seems like 9 of your 10 last trades involve the Raptors and not one of them is anywhere close to what Toronto would want to make that deal. Why don't you go try to fix Chicago instead?

Raptors are not rebuilding. why would you think they'd want draft picks for their best player? You're never going to suggest a believable trade until you start learning to consider what teams want. nobody has ever done a deal just because its what the other team wanted.

@Fredman - how many back to backs to teams play in the playoffs? I do like the idea of making the scoring championship be the leading scorer in total points scored regardless of games played. Rebounds too.

Raptors fans would love to see Kawhi back, but it would be tough to match salary without involving Siakam. With OG as the headline going back you'd have to include Boucher, Young's option picked up, probably Koloko and more, and still the Clippers would want more picks than Masai would give up. Just a pipedream. An expensive one because they'd have no choice but to pay up on Fred, Gary and Jakob this summer and go way over the tax line.

I think they'd be more likely to look at Gregory Jackson. Longer term I believe the Raps plan to use Scottie as the jumbo point guard. More likely they look for a shooter with size, because, of course, they have to be close to 6'9" to get a second thought.

Toronto wants Scottie to develop as a Magic Johnson type big point guard. I'm not sure if he can become that, but he certainly isn't ready to replace Fred next year. Ultimately Fred has earned the respect of Masai and the Raptors organization, so they will act by his wishes while also watching out for their own interests. If Fred wants to stay they will pay him appropriately, and maybe even more than the market would, just as they did with Lowry's last contract. If he wishes to go somewhere a S&T is needed they will do their best to accomodate, but will also do their best to fleece the other team as much as possible. Orlando seems like a real longshot to me. They are not close enough to competing to provide any real attraction to Fred. He is not the missing piece that would make them contenders. I expect he will likely resign in Toronto this summer. @Fredman - not sure they'll be drafting early enough for the Thompsons. wouldn't be surprised if they took a flyer on Zach Edey in the second round.

Raps don't need any vampires in the clubhouse.
