Mavs trade Matthews and Powell and
2019 2nd round pick
Thunder trade Anthony and 2019 unprotected 1st round draft pick.

Mavs then sign and trade Paul George and Anthony to LA Lakers for a package including extended Julius Randle and future unprotected 1st round draft picks. I would say 3/ 1st rounders due to the rest of this deal.

Lakers then have pieces to entice LeBron James to come out and sign with his buddies. This would give Lakers Championship contender for several years which means their 1st round picks will be picks in range of 25-30. Therefore, not a great sacrifice for the rebirth of Showtime.

Mavs gain future draft picks and RANDLE to build around Smith and whoever they get this year. Picks will help rebuild once Dirk retires.

OKC gets relief from a bad contract and a quality young player along with expiring contract of Matthews. Also get high 2nd round pick in case they have to rebuild. Matthews can be dealt later or kept if Westbrook gets traded. Late 1st is a reasonable compensation for getting rid of Anthony who could walk away from Mavs for nothing if LA trade falls through.

Mavs have room and everyone expects them to take lousy contracts on for 2nd round picks. That does not benefit Dallas. Dallas should get no less than a late first for any bad contract they take on.

Denver send Fairied and 14th for mavs pick 33.

Cavs send Thompson and their own
first available unprotected 1st rounder for a Dallas 2nd in the same year.

Mavs sign and trade Noel to Lakers if LA agrees to extend and trade Julius Randle in return. Both players get 3 year deals.

I can't see the Cavs giving up an unprotected pick and I don't see any situation where they're trying to dump salary. If Lebron leaves, they're under the luxury and if he stays the goal will be to add to the roster.

Mavs/ Suns

Mavs sign and trade Noel 3yrs/8 per

Trade Noel and Smith Jr for Suns #1 and Tyson Chandler

Why this works, Suns get a young center with upside and PG with all star caliber while ridding chandlers bad contract.
Mavs then draft Ayton at 1 and Trea young at 5..

What center with upside do the Suns get? I don't see one in the trade.

In all seriousness, Smith Jr doesn't have close to the value of the #1 pick, and Noel has zero value (especially since he's a free agent) .

Even if you remove the dislike Cuban and Suns owner Sarver have for each other, this is no deal whatsoever. Noel and Smith for the number#1 pick? Seriously? Suns would be on the floor laughing as they hang up the phone.

Mavs now on radar for LBJ.. rumor that LBJ could be interested in Dallas depending on the center that Dallas signs. Jordan or Cousins could be the key. Mavs might be willing to trade a couple lower level players to create more cap space.

Bench of Nowitzki, McDermott, Ferrell, and Powell

Matthews might be odd man out. OR Mavd could renegotiate a longer term less expensive contract.

1.) 25 Jun 2018 17:44:45
Drama i. e. Whiteboard punching, no practices is he going to be a role player or run the offense? I think Dallas could just be starting to build something. Lbj is not meshing well with Carlisle.

2.) 26 Jun 2018 16:24:40
There is absolutely no story about the Mavs being on LBJs radar. Vegas doesn't even give them odds. becuase they have no chance. Where did you come up with that story? Especially the part that he is waiting to see what they do for a center? Just funny.

Macs rejected all trades during draft that involved in coming contracts. They are not taking TT and giving up cap space.

Even trading Matthews, mavs would not have accept that deal. Randle will have to be extended before they would even consider that.

There's trade is ridiculous. Dallas won't give up this year's first-round and next year's first-round to move up for a player who may fall in their laps anyway.
